The Cinema of Jazz Film Festival has announced its call for feature and short film entries for its event running in Toronto from July 20th-24th, 2004 during the famous Beaches Jazz Festival. The deadline for submissions is April 12th, 2004.

The Cinema of Jazz was created to provide a unique place of celebration where music and motion picture merge, to promote moviemakers whose films showcase unique and insightful perspectives into the world of jazz and its players and to further encourage the creation of films whose subject matter is devoted to exploring the rich realms of music. The Cinema of Jazz offers a unique exhibition of the visual side of sound and musical side of the visual.

The Cinema of Jazz is accepting short and feature-length documentary, experimental and narrative submissions for two categories: Jazz - films which provide insightful looks into the world of jazz and Music Cinema - films that provide an outstanding and unusual glimpse into other realms of music. Unique to the city, the Cinema of Jazz promises a fine collection of films which span from the early 1940’s to present day by filmmakers from all over the world. Thanks to the support of The Beaches International Jazz Festival, the Cinema of Jazz looks forward to entertaining its audiences with assortment of new masterpieces and lost treasures.
